GriefShare, a nationwide program, is a 13-week seminar and nondenominational support group for adults ages 18 and older who are grieving the loss of a family member or friend. No matter how recent or long ago your loved one has died, this is an opportunity to be around others who understand what you are feeling and to receive comfort and encouragement as you learn how to navigate your personal grief process.
Each session includes a video seminar and group discussions with biblical teachings on grief and recovery. Topics include:
managing grief-related emotions
how to cope with the changes in your life and relationships
how to recognize what’s normal in grief
what to do if you feel stuck or hopeless
GriefShare is offered periodically at Freshwater. Please see below for a current or upcoming session.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Under certain special circumstances, more help and support is needed than a group can provide. When this occurs, Freshwater recommends the person seek individual counseling. FW has an affiliation with Cornerstone Christian Counseling Center in Kalamazoo and recommends people contact this agency for additional one-on-one support. The professionals who work there have been vetted by Converge MidAmerica, which FW is affiliated with. Please contact Ann at: ann@freshwatercc.org for additional information about individual counseling.
