It’s that time of the year again for our DHHS Adopt A Family Christmas Tree!

Starting Sunday, November 3rd we will have a Christmas tree up in the commons with different ornaments on it with different families. This tree will be up throughout November until all the families have been adopted. Once you grab an ornament, you will be assigned a family to shop for, for this Christmas season! You will be handed an envelope with the families names, ages, needs, etc. We encourage you to reach out to the family if you have any questions about the needs and to set up a good day/time in December to drop the presents off to them. Our Project Serve Leaf Raking is back!

Saturday, November 16th from 9am - 12 pm.

Meet at Freshwater outside of Entrance A @ 8:45 for coffee & snacks.

Bring your leaf blowers, rakes & tarps as we will go out into the community to rake leaves!

All ages welcome!

On Sunday, November 17th we will have our Parent/Child Dedication at the 9 & 11 AM Service!

Ready to get into the Christmas Spirit? Come and join us for a wonderful time of fellowship and crafting. It will be November 23rd from 12-4pm in the Commons. Ladies will get to have lunch and then make 4 festive crafts to take home. Cost is $20 and all items are provided. Bring your friends, mom, neighbor. It’s going to be a great time! 

Note- This is not a Freshwater event. The Paw Paw Thanksgiving Committee is in charge of this event and they use our building to provide these free meals! Details below!

Dine-In

Join the Paw Paw Community for in-person dining from 12-3 p.m. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors. Seating is first-come, first-served, and we kindly ask that you make room for others once you've completed your meal. 

Delivery

If you are housebound in the Paw Paw, Lawton, Mattawan or Gobles area and are unable to travel, our volunteers will bring dinner to you. Request delivery using the Delivery Request Form or call United Christian Services at (269) 415-0676 between Nov. 18-27.

Delivery Requests

BEGINS NOV. 18

We take delivery requests beginning Nov. 18 -27 by submitting a delivery request form. The delivery form will close on November 27 at 10 a.m., but you can still place a delivery request by calling before 12  p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

If technology is not your friend, you can call UCS (269) 415-0767 during office hours (Mon, Weds, and Thurs 9 a.m.-12 p.m.) and someone will assist you.

Get into the Holiday Spirit with Exercise & Fun!

The Paw Paw Area Rotary Club is hosting its 13th Annual 5K Santa Run and 1Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Freshwater Community Church.  Proceeds from the Run will be used to further the Rotary Club’s efforts both locally & worldwide. 

Each participant receives a 5-piece Santa suit that is worn during the Run/Walk (kids under 12 receive a Santa hat). A $100 donation will be made to Rotary International's WASH program on behalf of the men's and the women's 1st place runners.  Rotary's WASH initiative works to bring clean water, sanitation and hygiene programs worldwide to communities in need. 

The Santa Run is a popular community event enjoyed by participants and spectators alike.  Enjoy our pre-run party with live music, treats, and time to visit with friends. To add to the fun, we'll again have a face painter available. The race kicks off at 9 am when you will help fill the town with Christmas cheer as one of the hundreds of Santas running through downtown Paw Paw!

Everyone’s a winner!  The purpose of this event is to provide a fun and family-friendly community run that everyone can enjoy. Every Santa who participates is a winner whether they're just there for a fun-run, or working to beat a personal record. In addition to your Santa suit, a medal will be presented to each person who completes the Santa Run. 

This event is NOT timed.

Event and Onsite Registration

Early arrival is encouraged! Event and onsite registration will be at Freshwater Community Church.  Pick up your Santa suit and enjoy live holiday music. To add to the fun, face painting will again be provided. And don't forget to come back in to pick up a healthy snack after the race. 

Bad Weather

The run will be canceled by 7:30 a.m. on race day if the weather is too severe. There will be no refunds.

Other Information

*Dogs are not allowed on the course.

*All walkers and participants with strollers will be required to wait until all runners have crossed the start line.

NOTE- This is not a Freshwater Event. This is being held at Freshwater and Freshwater Staff attends and helps cheer the Santas on :)

On Sunday, December 15th our Splash kids will be joining us on stage to share some Christmas classics!
